Making a BIG Impact with a Small Card…

In a digital world where emails and social media dominate communication, you’d be forgiven for wondering if there is still a place for business cards. But we’re here to tell you, business cards are still very relevant and can be a potent tool to making a lasting impression- if you do it right. ..

Here are our favourite 6 ways to make a BIG impact with a small card…

(We’re using one of our recent business card designs for our client’s gîtes business in France, to show you how it’s done.)

A) Make your contact details and links clear and easy to find so that they can find out more or get in touch (the easier it is, the more likely they are to do it)

B) Make use of open space to fit in all of your information - on a card this small you need to get clever with your design. But be careful not to make it too overcrowded

C) Images can be a great way to show more without having space for all of the words to describe it

D) Choose your main call to action (here it's 'book your stay') and make it bold. If you use a QR code, integrate it into the design (it doesn't always have to be black on white)

E) Add an extra finish like spot UV or velvet touch card (or in this case, both) to give a premium feel to your cards (it shows you care about the little details and the customer experience)

F) Use a short tagline to show what you do or offer at a glance and place it prominently

More Inspo…

Our own Bloom Creative business cards were made a bit differently. We added a gift to our cards and placed a secret message on them too…

We added a removable, plantable purple flower made from seeded paper that when planted grows a range of wildflowers which is great because now it's a gift rather than a just another card for them to take home. And there's a hidden message underneath the paper flower which is only revealed once they remove it - keeping our communication with them going for longer!

We opted for less info on our cards to keep things bold and bright with our recognisable purple background. By using our soa.sh page for the link, we can continually update multiple relevant links in one place for the best connections!
