4 tips to make your business blooooom

We’re a few weeks into September and it’s a month that can be seen as a bit of a fresh start after the change of pace of the summer months (whether you slowed down or things felt chaotic and busier). It can be a good time to reflect on achievements from the ‘academic’ year before and look forward to reaching new goals.

What are you looking forward to in the last few months of 2024 and as we head into 2025?

Perhaps you’ve got an exciting new project or plans to launch a new product or service, or maybe you’re looking forward to more of the same awesomeness you have now.

Whatever you have planned, here are four tips to help you and your business bloom:

1. Get outside

Being in and looking at nature can not only boost your mood but your concentration too. If you’re having a bad day, you’re feeling rubbish, lacking motivation, or you have no focus, try getting outside into a green space or stand for a while looking out the window. Being outdoors can do wonders for inspiration as well. If you work as part of a team, why not organise some time outdoors together whilst the weather’s still intermittently sunny?

2. Go back to your business roots

Going through some company changes or feeling a bit stuck where you are? Spend some time thinking about why you started your business or took the role you’re in now; who you help and what you enjoy most about it. This can reignite the passion you have! 

For business owners and/or those of you in charge of branding at your company, reflecting on this can help you to strengthen your brand's identity with purpose and reach your target audiences.

Whenever we work with a company on a rebrand, we always start with a chat about where the business started - it helps to unlock some gems about the purpose and passion that the founders had right back at day one (and often earlier) which in turn helps you to strengthen your brand identity and reach your dream clients and customers.

Even though companies can evolve and grow, it's great to look back at what started it all.

3. Water and feed your biz (& yourself!)

We mean this figuratively (although taking lunch breaks and drinking lots of water is probably a good idea too!). Invest in knowledge, skills, and community - these three things can nourish both you and your business in several ways.

With knowledge and skills you can do more, increase the quality of what you do, and even save time by learning better ways to do things (working smarter not harder). With community, you get the benefit of relationships: be that to find people to help with projects, or for encouragement/support in the tough times and celebrations with you in the great times.

4. Create space to grow

Whether you’re the business owner or part of the team, there’s a limit to what is possible in the hours of the day, week, month, or year. Think about streamlining your services and outsourcing some tasks that are important but take up too much of your time and brain space.

With more time to slow the pace a bit, you'll find your creativity can come back and, if you're an ideas person, you'll be giving yourself space for those ideas to start flowing again. A great idea, mixed with a good strategy and a team to make it happen, could lead to the growth you've wanted to see for your company.
